The European Commission has just opened a new public consultation on the review of the European law related to mercury.

This initiative focuses on further restricting the remaining uses of mercury in the EU, especially in dental amalgam and certain other mercury-added products, such as lamps and measuring devices, and their international trade.

This contributes to the zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment, as announced in the European Green Deal.

The consultation is opened until 3^rd May 2022.
