ECHA has submitted a proposal to restrict the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in fire-fighting foams.

The proposal will now be evaluated by ECHA’s scientific Committees for Risk (RAC) and Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC) and will be subject to a consultation, which will be launched after the committees agree the report is in conformity. ECHA will “pre-publish” it on 23 February 2022.
