Restriction proposal for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in clay targets for shooting submitted

ECHA has submitted a proposal to restrict the placing on the market and use of substances containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in clay targets for shooting. The proposal will now be evaluated by ECHA’s scientific Committees for Risk Assessment (RAC) and Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) and will be subject to a wide stakeholder consultation.

ECHA will shortly “pre-publish” the Annex XV report describing the proposal on its website. The consultation will be launched after RAC and SEAC agree that the report conforms with the requirements of REACH. At the same time, ECHA will formally publish the Annex XV report.
