A new European initiative in currently under preparation and is related to the streamlining EU scientific and technical work on chemicals through the EU agencies.

As reminder, the European Green Deal sets an objective for chemical safety assessments to move towards a process of “one substance, one assessment”. To achieve this, scientific and technical work on chemicals performed at EU level in support of EU legislation should be streamlined by making best use of the expertise of the relevant EU Agencies. This will simplify the current set-up, improve quality and coherence of safety assessments across legislation and ensure a more efficient use of resources.
